California-style retirement living in Southern Orange
County from its inception in the mid-1960s. Laguna Woods
is a gated community encompassing 2,095 acres and 3.27
square miles.

facilities available for the use of all residents include
seven clubhouses complete with hobby shops, game rooms,

courts, a library, and modern equipment for almost any
social, educational or recreational clubhouse activity.

championship 27-hole golf course and driving range, plus
a nine-hole 3-par executive course and putting greens
are available only to residents of the senior community

Styles
Single-story
buildings: Usually no steps, but may have a few steps
in the sidewalk. From one to eight units in the building.
Two-story
buildings with a full flight of stairs: One level has
no stairs from ground, second level is accessed by stairs.
In most of these manors the stairs service the upper level;
there are a few models featuring stairs to the lower unit.
Number of units per building is from 6 to 16.
Two-story
buildings with a half flight of stairs: Eight units per
building, with both upper and lower units accessed by
about 8 or 9 steps.
Two-story
buildings with ramps: From six to eight units per building,
ramps service both upper and lower levels.
Two-story
"town home" style units: Interior stairs; living
area, bedroom and full bath on ground level; additional
bedroom and/or loft and bath on upper level.
Three-story
buildings: These buildings are serviced by elevators and
contain from 21 to 24 units. Parking is either subterranean
or detached carports.
Parking
Parking
for the senior community in Laguna Woods is primarily
one assigned carport per manor. Additional parking is
available on-street or in the cul de sacs. Some non-driving
residents may rent out their carport for $20 to $50 per
month.
Manors
with garages are available. Manors with one-car detached
garages are available beginning around $400,000. Manors
with a one or two-car attached garage start a little higher,
around $425,000 and up.
